Measuring Madness

The cylinders and pyramids have been learning how to estimate the length, height and width of items in the classroom using meters and centimeters. They were then to measure these and discuss any differences between their estimation and the actual measurement.

P6 and 7 had a visit from RBS last week to learn about how people can become a victim of fraud. They were asked to investigate a fraud case using evidence. Primary 5 are organising a Race for Life to raise awareness of cancer and to try raise money for cancer research.

It will be at St. Paul’s Primary School in East Calder on the 17th of  May 2018 at 10:00.

The Reading Cloud

In P6 we have been learning about natural disasters. This week we have been creating our own 3D model of a natural disaster. As you can see from the photos it got a little messy during the creating process.

Music Makers In P6

In science P6 have been learning about sound. We have learnt that sound is caused by vibrations. We tested this out by making a musical instrument using a plastic cup and a piece of string. By wetting our fingers and pulling on the string we caused a vibration which made an annoying noise.
